Job Description: The SONIC Technology Team is looking to add a forward-thinking developer to the team as we look to modernize our integration patterns between the POS systems and the suite of applications that assist our restaurant operators. As a senior-level developer, this role may mentor/coach more junior developers, as needed, to assist in their development. Essential Functions: • Understand business requirements and how they translate in application features • Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications • Design creative prototypes according to specifications • Write high quality, unit-tested source code within deadlines • Conduct functional and non-functional testing • Troubleshoot and debug applications • Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features • Develop technical documentation to accurately represent application design and code Education and Work Experience: • 5+ years’ experience in Software development and delivery experience in C++, Java, .NET, or other modern programming languages • A passion for software engineering and test automation • Experience in leading large, diverse teams building custom applications • Great OO skills, including strong design pattern knowledge • Experience working with Agile, lean, CI/CD and/or XP practices • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment • Ability to connect with people and to quickly build trust with others • DevOps experience is a major plus • Experience in iOS and/or Android applications a plus • BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working experience with: o relational databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres) o Spring Technology stack o ORM (JPA/Hibernate) o dynamic languages (Groovy, Ruby, Python) and static languages (Java, C++, C#) o messaging systems (JMS, RabbitMQ, SQS) o Enterprise Integration Patterns (Mule ESB, Camel, Tibco) o web application containers (Tomcat, Resin, Jetty, IIS) o cloud based development (AWS, Azure, Google, PCF) o log aggregators (Splunk, Data Dog) o source control systems (Git, SVN) o CD/CI tools (GoCD, Jenkins, Artifactory, Terraform, Ansible) o web services (REST, SOAP) o API specification tools (RAML, Swagger) o CD/CI techniques (TDD, BDD, Infrastructure as Code) Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
